Terms of service

The service

SceneHunt reads a script or voiceover you give it, plans the visuals each line needs, and searches public sources for matching videos and photographs. It returns links and previews with the reason each was chosen. It does not download or host the footage itself.

These terms are between you and Bashir Muhoozi, [postal address] ("SceneHunt", "we"). By using the service you agree to them.

Accounts

• You can try a 5-minute script demo once, without an account or payment card. An account keeps your projects and the same remaining demo balance. Searching beyond that allowance requires a paid plan.
• You must be at least 13 to use SceneHunt, and at least 18, or have a parent's or guardian's permission, to buy a plan.
• Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One free trial per person. Creating extra accounts or networks to get more free minutes is not allowed.

Plans and billing

• Paid plans are monthly subscriptions with a set number of minutes of script per billing period. Prices and allowances are on the pricing page.
• Payment is taken by Stripe when you subscribe and at the start of each period. The plan renews automatically until you cancel.
• Unused minutes do not carry over to the next period.
• If we change a price we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time in Manage billing on your account page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then stops; you will not be charged again.

Your 14-day right to cancel

If you subscribe as a consumer in the UK, you can cancel within 14 days of first subscribing and get a refund. Because the service starts as soon as you subscribe, if you have already used some of your minutes we may deduct an amount in proportion to what you used. [the checkout must ask subscribers to agree the service starts immediately for this deduction to apply]

Other refunds

Outside those 14 days we do not refund part-used periods, except where the law requires it. If the service failed you, for example it was unavailable or a run broke and used your minutes, email bashirmubarak08@gmail.com and we will put it right.

Your scripts

You own the scripts and audio you submit. You give us permission to store and process them to provide the service, including sending them, or search queries written from them, to the providers described in our privacy policy. We do not use your scripts for anything else.

Only submit material you have the right to use, and do not include other people's private information that does not need to be there.

Footage we find

The videos and photographs SceneHunt finds belong to their owners. SceneHunt does not license them to you. Whether you can use a clip in your own video depends on its licence, the owner's permission, or an exception in copyright law such as fair dealing, and that is your decision to make and your responsibility.

We link to third-party platforms such as YouTube. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use SceneHunt to:

• break the law, or plan content that is unlawful, harassing or defamatory;
• scrape, resell, or offer the service to others as your own;
• get around limits, rate limits or security, or overload the service;
• reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows.

Accuracy

Scene plans, scores and matches are produced with AI and automated search, and will sometimes be wrong: the wrong person, the wrong year, a clip that does not show what its title says. Review results before you rely on them. The service is provided as it is, and we do not promise it will always be available or error-free.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for how you use the footage you find. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that time, or £100 if that is more.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using SceneHunt and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us. If we stop offering SceneHunt we will give paying subscribers at least 30 days' notice and refund any period paid for and not provided.

Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms. We will email account holders about significant changes before they apply. These terms are governed by the law of [England and Wales], and you can bring a claim in the courts of the part of the UK you live in.
